Eligibility Criteria

Scouts: Every Philmont 2006 Scout must meet each of the following criteria to be a member of one of the Philmont-bound crews.

Note:  More Scouts may apply to attend Philmont 2006 than the space available.  Applications will receive consideration on a variety of factors, to include date of application, extent of prior troop participation, and crew compatibility. 

Adults: Every Philmont 2006 Adult Advisor must meet each of the following criteria to be a member of one of the Philmont-bound crews.

Note:  More Leaders may apply to attend Philmont 2006 than the space available.  Leader applications will receive consideration on a variety of factors, to include date of application, extent of prior troop participation, crew compatibility, and whether the leader is parent or guardian of a youth planning to Philmont-2006. 

Fees:  A fee schedule will be set for Philmont-2006 participants.  With the exception of the initial application fee, all fees shall be refundable for non-attendance only if the space is later filled. Fees will include payments as follows:

Backpacking:  Each Philmont trek will involve hiking with a 35-55 pound backpack, between 6,500 and 12,500 ft. elevations.  The specific treks for each crew will not be selected until 2006, but each participant will hike a minimum of 50 miles to a maximum of 90 miles over a span of two-weeks.
